MY STORY
My grandparents’ farm was the source of a lot of creative inspiration for me growing up. The sunsets over the endless Kansas plains seemed to burst with creative energy.
I am originally from a small town in the middle of Kansas. By the time I graduated high school, I was ready to take on challenges in a larger city. I attended one of the greatest universities in the country, the University of Kansas. Yes, I’m shamelessly biased. In fact, it was my job to be for a while. (See my résumé to find out why.) I studied psychology and journalism, with an emphasis in strategic communications.
It was there that all the bottled creativity from Kansas sunsets came in handy. I refined my skills in writing and storytelling, and I complemented those abilities with a certificate in graphic design. I also recently earned an MBA with a graduate certificate in marketing to add the proverbial cherry to my education sundae.
My career brought me to Kansas City, where I currently work as a marketing copywriter by day and creative freelancer at pretty much all other times. I have in-depth experience in strategic planning and writing, public relations, social media, graphic design, and website development and maintenance using various content management and marketing automation systems. I also have experience managing teams, evaluating projects, and fostering relationships while overseeing a group of 15 employees.
Today, I feel equipped to take on any challenge. When I set my mind to something,
I achieve it—no question—and I’m prepared to do that when it comes to your
business goals.
Contact me, and let's talk about how my skills can benefit you.
